Question Help parking lights stay on

Rainy day today and when I got home I didn't notice but later when I went out my parking lights were on. So I checked the switch and everything was off. So I drove it to the store to see if it would reset itself, but still staying on. I've searched and came up with not a whole lot so thought I'd start a thread and see who knows what's wrong. My e-brake light has been on and off too and I don't care about fixing that unless it solves my problem. Also sometimes after I turn off the truck the parking lights would cycle for a second and then turn off. That would happen like 20 seconds after I turned the key off. Right now the battery cable is off until it's light outside (and not pouring rain).

I've got a 97 t100 with 225,000 automatic 4x4. Not sure what else someone will need. I noticed lately that my reverse bulbs are not working but I just assumed they were burned out. Same with my right front parking light. Everything else works great. Maybe those 'burned out' light bulbs arent burned out or something else. I jiggled around the rear harness under the bed and everywhere I could see wires to see if it would click off, but no luck.

Help please.

thanks

Do you have a towing light harness installed? It's usually the culprit to many electrical gremlins. If so, you might want to remove it and see how yer T-100 fairs after that.

Do you have an alarm system installed?

Easiest way to test yer bulbs is to pull them and test them with some 12VDC directly.

Yer brake light could be from a low brake reservoir...top it off. You might also want to check yer brake system (pads/shoes) fer wear.

Do you have an alarm system? That's the first thing I'd check for the flashing parking lights.
Next thing would ne the combination switch (lights on/off/hi/lo control switch).

Talking

Thanks y'all. I went out this morning and reconnected the battery and the lights have been ok. I don't have an alarm (that I know about anyway), but do have a hitch. I'm going to look at all the lights and etc soon as I can get a dry spot to lay on and look at the hitch wiring. Hopefully it's solved and was just a stuck contact or something. I don't have the shop manual or wiring for the t100 but am probably going to start looking for it. Other than the flex plate doing the cool break, I haven't had a problem with this for 3 years (only put 20k on it since I got it though).
