will start cold but not hot

My T100 will start cold every time but not when it is hot after sitting for about 10 min. or so.I have heard of several people having this problem but no one has the answer. this is a comon problem it appears. I do know of folks with a 4runner and a t100 with this problem but nobody has the resoultion without going to the dealership and spending about 1000 dollars. I have replaced the fuel filter and the fuel pressure apperars to be ok. Any suggestions will be appreicated.

Talking

I had the same problem with a 1991 V6 Camry....turned out to be the EFI relay under the hood. When it was cold it would start and run just fine but when you would shut it off after getting it up to temp. it wouldn't start. What happened was- some shop blew the relay up while wiring it up for trailer lights-they replaced it and put a new one in with the electric grease. The problem was when it was cold the grease was hard and made good contact but when it was warm the grease softened and contacts were loose. So I just took it out and bent the prongs a little bit so it made constant contact. Before I got a hold of it it had went to a couple of shops and none of them figured it out!

What engine? 4cyl, 3.0L v6 or 3.4L v6? Do you have a manual. If not check out the regular truck forums they have links to online oem manuals that can help you troubleshoot. At this point it could be anything.

It is a 96 3.4

We have replaced The 3 plug wires and not tHE coil packs. This is a common problem. I have heard of several people having this problem but no one has given a solution.

Thumbs up Problem Fixed

Well I have fixed the problem. It was the fuel pump. The power connector for the fuel pump had to be replaced. The fuel pump had started to pull to much power and burned the connector to a chrisp. I purchased a new fuel pump housing for about 80.00 from toyota abnd the pump from Advanced auto for 140.00. Strange the truck would run once it started and 2 different sghops told me it was not the pump. Go Figure
