Hi. i am fairly familiar with hilux and tacoma trucks but not so much with t-100's. What years were they made, what engine options did they have and how well does the 4x4 system work? i appreciate any and all info!

1993-1998

1993 3.0 V6
1994 3.0 V6, 2.7 L4
1995-1998 3.4 V6, 2.7 L4

Like all 4x4 systems, you need to cycle it once a month or it can "stick" and not work. Guess what you want yer 4x4 system to do to consider "how well it works"...

So run the truck in 4x4 for a few miles every month? Never owned a 4x4 before, but I've had my T100 since Feb....looks like I should get on that.

The 3.4L that it the most common engine on them is the same 5VZ-FE that is the the 96-03 tacomas. The trannys are the same as well (at least the manual is, not sure bout the auto) 4x4 systems are similar as well. I would suspect the transfer case is the same but not sure. The rear axles on the T 100s are bigger than the tacomas or hiluxs. In my experience the 4x4 system works flawlessly. It really hauls balls in 4 low.
