I read up about the Clutch Bracket before I bought my T100, so I ordered it and installed it today. My problem is that first gear still grinds and jumps out of gear. 2 thru 5 work fine, just 1st gear is gone. I was hoping that the bracket would fix it, but no luck. Any help would be great. BTW, my local dealer said it may be the shifter bushings, but I'm not so sure on that.

You could have it torn down and checked...or you could just pull one from the parts yard.

Sounds like yer syncro is gone.

Thanks Bam. That's what a couple of friends also said, that it's the syncro. I'll look around this weekend at the scrapyards for a spare. I called a couple of transmission shops today, but they wanted me to bring it in so they could "look" at it. We all know what that means....Money....

Just to be sure, I replaced the bushing on the bottom of the gear shifter today. NO LUCK....arrgg.... So I guess it's on to a replacement tranny. There goes what little savings I had.

If it wasn't yer daily driver and you had some mechanical background, you could change it out yerself...

I have other means to get me to work, and I have pretty good knowledge of general maintenance. My problem is, transmission work is as difficult as learning Arabic...and that was super hard. I think if I had a class on common tranny work or a detailed manual on how to do it, I think it could be done. But it almost seems as easy and cheap to have someone do it for 200 or 300 bucks. I'll pull it and install it, the rest I leave to the pro's.

I've decided that I chose the wrong career. I should have been a transmission specialist, these guys are making a fortune. I've called about 15 places here locally, and all of them are 1,000 dollars and up. One place I called, said that labor alone would be 1600 bucks. ouch. I know that transmissions are difficult to work on, but is it really worth 80 bucks an hour to know how to work on one. I think I may look into a Tech School to learn tranny work. I could do the work for half the price and still make a living. Any help from anyone would be great. I found a 1994 T100 tranny for 750 bucks, with 64,000 miles on it. But I have to do the install myself. Which would be better? Lost in Tennessee.

if you found the whole trany then just place it back on...yes transmission work is hard to work on once you take apart the transmission itself. taking it off and putting it back on the engine is easy. there are videos on the internet that show you how to replace everything inside a engine. i don't think you need to go school, just watch some of them videos.
