Something useful to do with your cup holder

The second shot shows the plank pulled out. it slides all the way back in (you can see that the pivot is mitered into the board to let it slide all of the way in)

Planed some ash down to the right thickness and width for a quite snug fit. That screen weighs quite a bit and the mount is quite sturdy this way. That's a screen for bumper/trailer cams, but you could use this kind of mount for whatever gear you like. It's nice to be able to pop it out and hide it in the back in the city, or if you need more cup holders...

And the truck...

I can't stand that cup holder. Who cam up with that design anyways? I swear, everything underneath that thing gets caked in old coffee. What did you use for actual cup holders after you took the stock one out? Or did you even bother?

I've got bucket seats and a center console (which has 2 cup holders from the factory). However... right now I've got the center console out because my beagle likes to lay inbetween the seats on long trips...

If your 60/40 arm rest has the storage box in it, I wonder if you could take the lid off that and make a wooden insert?

It might be a little awkward still to keep use the storage box to reach over for a cup, etc.
I've been loosely toying with the idea of putting in some bucket seats, but i wonder too if I could put in a semi permanent console right on top of the middle seat and just push that storage box back....
