oil pressure ??

Just purchased my first T100 yesterday. I hauled a ton and a half of landscape boulders today and noticed the oil pressure gauge (gauge above the engine temp gauge) was on the low side. Is this
typical ? At a standing idle it's dead low, at high speed it reads a little over a quarter on the gauge.
Oil volume is normal and temp is dead center when fully warm. Should I be concerned ? Are these gauges accurate and if they are what would be the proper reading ?

The 3.4 runs about 3-5 psi at idle, and 40 plus at higher RPM. First I would verify with a mechanical gauge. Mine was reading about the same way, and I found the sender to be at fault. They seem to read lower the older they get.

It usually reads normal when you first start up and the engine is cold. Once things warm up, they all read low but the pressure is still normal

thanks for the quick responses fellas. This seems like a pretty lively forum compared to some others. When I have a minute I'll check the sender unit.
As I said this is my maiden voyage with the T100 and I'm very impressed. Found the truck on craigs list for $3500 with 150,000 miles and a reconditioned title. New paint, very clean interior, 5-speed, 2WD, X-cab. From what I could determine the only damage was to the left fender and it wasn't replaced just straightened. All body panels still had their original corresponding VIN #. Truck shifts and runs smooth and can pull a load. This is a major upgrade from my bulletproof 86 SR5 4 banger. I guess I should introduce myself in the welcome section sorry to go in the back door here.

Some fresh oil will give you a little more needle.
