Why my T100 so lound but no power.

Is it normal for this truck to sound like big V8 engine but taking-off so slow especially from 0-40 mph? When I'm in parking lots everyone turn to look at my truck, so embarrassing. When I'm up to speed it's quite powerful and transmission shift very smooth. This is '95 3.4 auto w/ less than 100kmi on engine but truck and transmission is well over 330kmi. I wonder if toque converter should be replace along with engine. Also when I slow to a stop toque converter make "clunk" sound every time. Seem like a worn out shaft or something.

It's the sound of engine revving up like Mack truck or UPS truck. I've people even asking me the truck has V8. From 0-35 my rpm can reach around 2500-3000 is that normal? Once the OD kicked in it drop to 2200rpm at 65mph. I don't put stake on my stake bed and I removed my wooden bed and replace with aluminum so the truck is actually lighter than single cab T100 w/ 3.4 engine. I do have oversize cat-converter so the it does sound like v8 even at idle.

How's that auto trans fluid looking? Has this condition always existed since you've had possession of the truck?

Shoot some video of it and post it up on YouTube...

Have you calculated the rear end gear ratio?

I don't know what the ratio is but this is 1 ton model. I think gear ratio is same but toque converter might be high toque or lock-up type. I can load the truck up something like 1,500 lbs and the truck seem to run just like when it's empty!!! I'm not sure if other 1 ton model does the same. I just can't seem to find one around here to compare with. I sold my Chevy Avalanche and bought this truck about 6 months ago and already fail in love with it.

I'm guessing there is a whole in the exhaust somewhere from the muffler back. Mine rusted trough at the converter and my mileage went to about 15mpg. Got it fixed and I'm at 25mpg (average). Something to crawl under and look at, plus if its a serious whole you can possibly see and smell the exhaust.

Good luck!

Mine sounds like a big rig diesel when I first start it up, until it warms up...its just the fan running....I think it sounds cool....kinda like the old 4.0L jeeps. It gets looks for sure.
