a/c problem

I have a 1995 T-100 w/ 6 cyl, and the a/c is not blowing really hard (not much air coming out of ducts) it is nice and cold (40 degrees in miami !) but not enough air to part my hair (as it should !!). I replaced the blower motor and still no change...I noticed the fins on the evaporator were in really bad shape, and the air cannot get through them...so I guess the air is blowing around the evap core rather than through it.
Is there a previous blog on how to change the evaporator ? I did a search and did not find anything. Thanks !

The evaporator (the one in the dash) is pretty cheap...it's the labor involved to replace it that will rack up the cost. You might be able to straighten the fins out with a fin straightening tool...guess it all depends if you have the time vs the money to fix or replace things.

if its not blowing hard it is most likley your fan switch. i had mine go bad and it only blew on the lowest setting. it would cool the truck fine just took a bit longer to do so and would not get as cold on the hotter july and aug. days here in fl.

Thanks for the idea on the fin straightening...my fins are not just bent, they are rotted...disentegrating into aluminum flakes ! No, I will need to replace it...is there a thread that explains the steps for this in a T-100 made in 1995 ? thanks

I don't recall a thread being on here about tearing down the dash and gitting to the evaporator core...I just know it's a lot of work. The only other thing would be to search the forums or git a FSM.

If this is yer daily driver...you can tear it down and put the cluster back in place.
