How To: Get rid of the open door buzzer.

No you do not need to take apart your dash or instrument panel.

You just need to take off your driver's side rear door panel. And unhook the clip

I'm not sure how the D-Cab is setup, but in an access cab just take off the panel as explained Here

Uh. That was too easy.

Cool.

That's weird. Is it wired to some kind of switch? You would think that the door buzzer would just be wired into the door pin switch that is mounted on the door frame; not into the actual door.

Ya know when you're listening to the radio with your door open and you have the buzzer telling you that you have your door open? I dunno, it bugs me.

I did realize something though.

Your lights won't turn off by themselves when you take the keys out and then open the door. You will have to manually turn them off.

You may not or may not like that.

Canada

Is it just a single wire? You could wire an inline switch to it and turn it off when you want to use the stereo. If you wanna get fancy you could put a relay on it that opens when the amp has power.

Talking easier fix

There is a much easier way to stop the open door buzzer that requires no wire changing.

Try this:

- Turn key to ON and turn on radio.
- Open the driver's door, the buzzer sounds.
- Shut the door, the buzzer stops.
- Open the door again, the buzzer will not start again.

This works in my '06 dbl cab.

I am going to give this a try in my '05 dbl cab.

If you leave the key in the ON postion the beeping sound goes away after a few secs wheather the door is open or closed. I don't think this works in ACC position only in ON position.

It's the white unplugged harness.

I think there is also a fuse in the fuse panel under the steering coulmn, you might be able to wire in a switch from there to be placed in your spare switch panels.

Or just install a switch on the back door panel.

Who has the write-up for it? Taking off the rear door panel and the one under the steering column? Anyone???
