Protection from rock chips

Just wondering if anybody knows where I can get that piece of black plastic that goes on the front bottom corner of the bed panel (between the bed and the cab) because I keep on getting rock chips on there. I know the newer Tacomas come with them. I've fixed the the chips with a paint chip pen. I called the dealer and they have no idea what I'm talking about and it's not in their accessories catalog. If not, then any links to what I can buy instead? Thanks in advance.

I have them on my 06 and I know what you're talking about but I have no idea what the part # is sorry. I would go to the dealership and walk the parts manager out to the lot and show him on an '06 Tacoma on the lot exactly what you're talking about.

It wouldn't be an accessory catalog item as it is standard on all '06 Tacomas to address the paint issues experienced on the '05's.

If he looks up a Part # for the '05 Tacomas, its not going to exist.

Instead, just tell him you have your configuration truck in an '06 and it should show up in the parts breakdown for the bed section. He should give you two parts numbers; 1 for LH and RH pieces.

I had the rock chip problem on my 05 before I got it repainted and had the running boards installed. That little piece of black plastic on the 06's won't do much. The rock chip area extends from the bottom of the driver's side door, all along the rocker panels, and on the front corners of the bed, the rock chips extend almost up as high as the fuel door. It's pretty bad, but since I got the truck repainted, the running boards did alot this winter to prevent more chips.

I don't know the part #, but I got the service rep for toyota to agree to add those to my 2005 under warranty. I saw them on Ebay once for maybe $35.

I bought them for my 05, but I don't have the #'s handy. The parts dept should be able to look up the numbers from 06. You will need the fittings also. Left and right are different #'s. I paid about $40. for both.

Just remembered I'd pm-ed someone a while back with the part #'s, see if this link works.

Have the parts guys look up these part #'s:

75631D(RH)
75641D(LH)
If you can't reuse your plastic rivets, you need one of each per side:

90467-07188
90189-A0002

Keep in mind that they are different sizes for the short and long beds. The parts page show the same part # for both but one picture is labeled TRN22#. Be sure to specify your bed size.
