After I am done stopping (full stop) I fell a dull clunk in my rear end......the way I describe it is its like a pop can rolling forward and hitting the cab. This is usualling a second delay after I stop. I can't imagine its the transmission but who knows please help....

I have the same thing. My truck has been doing it for a while and it also does it when pulling out from a stop also. The problem is the splined slip yoke. This part is sticking and that is the clunk you are feeling. Toyota is not putting enough grease in the slip yoke part of the drive shaft assembly, In fact they are pretty bone dry from the factory. Not sure why they do this. The underlying problem is the surface is not being made smooth enough during the machining process. I don't even think that Toyota makes this part, I believe it is made by GM, but I am not entirely sure about that. Toyota knows about this problem, but is not doing anything about right now. I have complained about it several times and they keep telling me it is characteristic of the vehicle. That is what they are scripted to say until there is a TSB for a specific problem which is BS. I have a friend that is a Toyota/Lexus mechanic and some of the SUV line of the Lexus is having the same problem. He is going to pull the drive shaft down and add some special grease. That will only be a temporary fix until Toyota comes up with a permanent fix. This problem really gets on my nerves in stop and go traffic. The problem is really bad in the summer when the temperatures are above 60 degrees. During those temps. the grease thins out and sticks more. Take your truck in and complain about it. They will probably give you the same lip service that I got. If you keep the pressure on you might be able to get them to grease the slip yoke part (under the black plastic boot), but the problem will come back eventually.

Yeah I have the same problem. Been noticing it more lately. I will be taking the Tacoma in for an oil change here soon and bring it up to Toyota just to push the issue a little more.
I think this sounds like something that has been described before on this board as "axle wrap." I too experience this condition as described. From what I've read, its deemed "normal" for our trucks.
With our trucks being somewhat complex pieces of equipment made up of something on the order of 20,000 parts, I'm not worried about this too much. I too was like many new owners who are a few weeks/ months new to TN and have gotten caught up in every little noise, flaw, and scratch. After having the truck for almost a year now, I've mellowed out and just enjoyed the truck. Don't get me wrong, I still wash the truck every few weeks and watch where I park, I'm just not as anal as I was a year ago. Shoot, if I was, I would never drive the truck- I'd just stand there looking at it! Just my two cents!
The problem is not axel wrap. I have had this problem diagnosed twice now, once by the dealer and once by another Toyota/Lexus tech. I have had helper springs on since the 3000 mile mark and have had this problem with and without the super springs. When you come to a stop the spline yoke is sticking and sort of winding up the rear transmission so when you let off the brake you feel a clunk. That is the second part of the problem. The first being coming to a stop and starting from a stop (clunk). If it was not so annoying in stop and go traffic I could probably over look it until a fix comes out. I have had experience with this issue in two other vechiles(2000 ranger, Dad's F150) and both times it turned out to be the spline slip yoke. We just have to wait until Toyota gets going on the fix.

My current and last truck both had this problem. I finally figured it was just the gas sloshing in the tank. It only does it when it's between 90% and 30% full. To much, and it doesn't slosh, and too little, there isn't enought weight to slosh.
Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one....

There is no grease fitting for the slip yoke. It is a sealed system. You have to drop the drive shaft and take the boot off and grease it that way and then re-install everything. That is what we are going to do to my truck here in the next week or so. If it lasts the summer I'll be happy.

You seriously believe that? You're going to tell me that after I'm stopped for 7 seconds, "fuel slosh" is going to give me whiplash after overcoming the effing brakes?? (Okay, mild dramatization, but mine is CERTAINLY not "fuel slosh")

I have this like many other and yes it can be "fuel slosh"
I know from experience that fuel in and unbaffled tank can generate incredible force. The fuel does not just roll foward like a solid. Explaining the wave like motion that takes place would require a course in fluid dynamics but its energy is not released immediatly. it take some time. (not 7 seconds in my case more like 1 1/2 )
