Step tubes ...

I finally got my chrome step tubes today ... dealer had mistakenly ordered the silver tubes before and I didn't want them. Anyone notice that they seem to be to high on the truck? I'm 6'0 and don't need the step tubes (like them more for paint/dent protection) but the running boards on my F150 and my friend's step tubes at least seem to be functional.

I didn't find anything on a search, but is it possible to use some sort of bracket extension to lower them? I've never had nerf bars on a truck before so I guess I don't know what to expect ... just asking.

Thanks,
Mark

You are better off with these...

I have the OEM/DeeZee tubes and I think they are ok.

I like the N-Fab Steps, however, I think they'd only look good on a lifted truck. Don't know if I'll ever lift my truck. Maybe much later in the future.

Thanks, I like those but would only get them if I lifted my truck ... not likely for a while.

Like I said before, they look great just don't seem very functional ... when I use them, I am tall and umm big and would probably take my head off if I'm not careful and my wife is short and skinny and can't step up easily. Maybe I'm just used to the running boards on the F150, it was easy to get in and out of without tearing up the leather. I don't want to wear out the side bolsters on the cloth seats either.

I guess I could always trade these to someone with running boards. Or sell them and buy running boards similar to the ones docindahouze has ... those look awesome.

You gotta love that truck! I bet half of their Toyota sales are due to pics of that truck! The wheels, paint, everything looks kick @$$.

I like the steps, but the truck is cool too.
