I know I'm posting on a Tacoma forum BUT, what the consensus regarding the best for offroading, Tacoma, Tundra or teh FJ Cruser, thats what will ultimately be the deciding factor for me. I live in Colorado, so offroading here is a lot of loose rock, large imbedded rock, norrow jeep trials, minimal mud, the locker in the Tacoma is attractive while the Tundra does nto have that, the FJ also has a locker option. It seems to me the FJ has less overhang with teh same clearance so it may be a bit better?

my understanding is that the price is the same, but ya I do have to get over that "rich chick truck look" thing, I guess I'll see how confident I am regarding my manhood, I can always say my Tacoma is in the shop and the FJ is my wifes!
As far as off-roading goes, the FJ is a bit more appealing to me than the Tacoma or the Tundra. The only thing i do not like about the FJ is the visibility looking out the back windows.
I carry a lot of shit when i go hunting so for me the taco was a bit more practical.

it's right up there with the aztec, pt cruiser, and scion xb.
ugh, i'm getting sick just thinking about it.
When I first saw it, my opinion wasn't too far from your's. But I got to say, they had one at my dealer the last time I was there, so I checked it out, and the thing is really growing on me. For me the Tacoma is a more practical vehicle, the milage is also a little better, but that thing definitely has a coolness factor going for it. One stupid insignifigant little design feature that I really liked was how big the door handles were.

I was at my dealer the other day picking up my tow connector/adapter plug and they had an FJ inside. It's price was $42,000! I looked at the sticker and one thing stuck out like a sore thumb....$7000 added on for "limited availablity vehicle". Wow!

I don't like the appearance of the FJ at all... too hummer ish.
However what the FJ has going for it is pretty good... to me anyway.
Though I'd just go w/ a Truck. You can always add stuff onto it to make it a better off road vehicle. There isn't much you can do to the FJ to make it more appealing though.
