do a search, PB made a huge gigantic thread on exterior stuff and he talks about sonus pads. Kerosene should be fine, but don't take my word on it, just wash it out with soap and water afterwards.

Once I use a applicator pad I throw it away.

I don't think you want to use kerosene. There is a detailing forum here http://toyotanation.com/forum/f101

I use Lake Country pads. They are far to expensive to use just once (for me anyway); so there is a cleaning process involved. First of all I keep pads in ziplock bags that are labeled with the type of wax or polish I used on them... I don't mix polishes or waxes on the same pad... (anal, I know).

But to clean them I use Dawn dish soap and a lot of water to get the old wax out. LEt them dry real well and toss them back into the ziplock bag. Others on autopia.org talk about using alcohol -- but I've never heard of using kerosene on my buffing pads -- you could possibly damage the velcro backing.

One other idea is to take a look at the pad cleaning tool and solution available on this page:

http://www.superiorcarcare.net/lake-...foam-pads.html

Hope this helps...

You can wash them by hand with dish soap and a brush if you want to be real careful. I've been washing mine in the gentle cycle with Woolite, and it hasn't damaged my pads at all. The velcro is still sticking perfectly. The pads kind of float on top of the water, but they still get clean somehow. Just be sure to always air dry them. Don't worry about stains from the color of the wax or polish. It doesn't hurt anything.

Thanx Guys

I will try and wash them out then after I polish/wax. I mentioned the kerosene because it is wild at cleaning my KTM air filter which can't be cleaned with many things because it can break it down....kerosene doesn't damage it at all and it gets out everything. And if you didn't know.....they used to use a form of kerosene for waxing.....cool huh....anyways...thanx again
