Could'nt find much here specifically about 4 wheeling, bought mine primarily for its reproted off road capabilities. I live in Colorado so I'm lucky to hve endless options for putting my new Tacoma to the test.
Thought it might be fun to have a wheelin thread, maybe talk about result of mods such as tires, lifts, winches and such. Mine is stock, actually hav'nt even picked it up yet, being shipped in as we speak. I want to start planning mods now.

Hard to find places in NY. I have a hi-lift jack mounted in the bed, 3" lift, and am looking for larger tires.
I'd love to find a fab shop near me that could do front and rear bumpers.... lol Too bad I'll prolly end up spending a small fortune buying them online if I can't figure out how to make them myself.
A winch is in the plans somewhere. My buddy and I snapped a 10,000lb tow strap wheeling one afternoon so I'm thinking minimum 9,000lb rating for a winch. Also looking for an offroad winching kit for the Hi-Lift.
Oh, and I'm planning on building my own set of sliders. Sounds like I can do it for around $90 worth of steel from a local steel fabrication shop!

What brand is your 3" lift? 3" sounds about perfect.
I'd love to have my welder friend fab a bumper but I'd think I'd need exact dimennsions / plans for such, any such thing available out there I wonder?

My lift is a Toytec. $197 shipped via eBay.
My recent habits have been looking at products online, measuring my truck, and figuring something out in cad... lol I'm no expert but it seems easier to draw things to scale in it. ie line 0,0 to 0,84 for an 84" line. (bottom of one of my custom sliders)
I have a 14 day trial (14 working days, not calendar days) lol so it worked for my bike rack and sliders.
