Maintenence Required light. How to reset?

How do you reset the oil change light on a 2005 tacoma without the trip odometer? On my neighbors truck he holds the trip reset and his goes off but mine does not have that?

I have a 2005 and it has an Odometer/trip meter reset button. They must have forgotten to install yours at the factory.
It's in the manual. I don't have the manual in front of me now but if I remember correctly its: Turn ignition to On and then make sure your Odo/trip meter is set to Odo. Turn ignition to off. While depressing the Odo/trip button turn ignition to on and hold. The Odo readout will count down to zero. When this is done, release button and turn ignition to off. Your Maint Requi light will no longer be visible.

The directions to reset you Maint light IS in your owners manual...and yes, you do have a trip odo also...check section 1-6 pages 143 and 145 of your owners manual.

you mean there's a BETTER way than using a 9mm bullet?

I was wondering why the light never came back on...

hold the trip button, turn the key to the "ON" position and you'll watch trip A and B both reset to all ----. once they clear out, your light should turn off. I just had to do this over the weekend for the "maint reqd" light
