clunk coming from front end

Took my 2005 dc 4x4 to the dealer yesterday. My truck has started to make a metalic noise coming from the drivers side front wheel area when I go over bumps in the road The dealer can't find anything wrong, and will contact toyota for tech help.I did notice that while truck was on the lift, that the inside cv joint /cover seems to be very loose. Has anyone been getting this clunking noise from the drivers side wheel area?

you have a 2005, for which this seems to be a common problem. before anyone else flames you, I'll be nice: you should do a search on "bumper creak" or "creaking." check out this thread:

http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t99796.html

its basically the area where the two pieces of aluminum of your bumper extensions meet. Toyota thought they could save money on the welds by only welding 2 of the 4 seams on each of these extensions. the metallic noise or "creaking" is what happens.

Good luck!

The bumper mounts will be replaced if you bring your truck into the dealer.....I had the same thing about 2 weeks ago...super annoying.....the dealer found a tsb about it right away and ordered the parts....took 2 days to come in...now I"m golden....no more bumper noise!!!! hope they would get something about the seatbelt noise though....bastards

2005 Tacoma front end noise

here is the deal with the front end clanking noise, 2005 tacoma

I had this clanking noise coming from the front end, visited many sites to find out what the problem before taking it to the dealer. Took it in, tech took it for test heard the noise but did not know what the problem was. I told them to check the front bumper extentions. They changed the aluminum extenstions and the noise went. I ask for the old part and saw that the bolts were loose and the welds did not hold. I sent a letter to Toyota about this and hope to here from them soon. to me its a design flaw.

I had the same problem, but i took all my tsb in at once when i got my 05, i have to thank TN since is i didn't have the tsb's the dealership wouldn't have done squat. They also asked me where i got the tsb's from and i told them the internet. I also got a free alum. skid plate from the TSB also since my stock one rattled all kinds, and to prove it, i kicked it in front on them, and said see it rattles. But that was almost 3 years ago.

Extensions: It's the three bolts at the front that are welded to the extension not the ones with the arrows. PLEASE CLICK ON MY PHOTO IN LEFT BOX, CAMERA ICON

Mine makes a noise after being parked, when I back up and then go forward. Any thoughts?
