This morning I took my DC in for it's first service at the dealer where I bought it and as I'm rollin up the service lane I see a silver DC OR on the lot with some serious lift on it so I figure must belong to a customer. So I turn my truck over to the SA and go scope out this ride and it has a sticker in the window and not 30 ft away is another one in black. Both have a 6" pro-comp lift on them, 18" pro-comp wheels and BFG MT being sold off the lot new, they also had a lifted Tundra and a lifted FJ. The lift and the wheels and tires are listed as dealer installed options but according to the Srvc Mngr they came from the distribution port with the options installed. So out of curiosity is anyone else seeing the options in your neck of the woods???????

The Distribution port? I do not know what he could mean by that...But if he is implying that Toyota Motor Corp is putting lifts and 18" Pro-Comps on toyotas and sending them out to dealerships....he is tripping! The liabilities involved with lifting a truck and changing the Ride, Drive and handling dynamics are way to far reaching. Our local Nissan dealer has been getting these crazy lifted Titans called "No Fear" trucks.....They also have a separate sticker on them from the dealer listing the "No Fear" pkg and charging up a storm for it. Our local Toyota dealer sends out lots of new Tacomas to a local shop that lifts em' and adds wheels n' stuff...They add around $4000.00 on a seperate sticker and they do not seem to sell very well here in Colorado.
I have seen a few lifted tacomas, tundras, and one seriously lifted FJ at a dealer here in Tucson. All of the lifts that I have seen have been 3in revtech except for the FJ I don't know what lift was used for that.
i guess it just depends on the dealer whether they wanna sell custom trucks or not based on whether they think they will sell or not. i know my dealer doesnt do it, but the nissan dealer less then 2miles down the road does.

When I worked @ the dealer we would do in house mods but only the accessories offered by the manufacturer with one exception and that was the sunroofs we had put in some of the caddies by customer request only and the were sent out. I was dissapointed after checking these trucks out that for all the modifications that went into lifting the front and then I find blocks installed on the rear. Not to mention the fact that all the years I worked in automotive service, owner modifications especially extreme ones like liftiing/lowering a vehicle are frowned upon industry wide (as far as dealer service departments are concerned).

Just stumbled on this thread however I happened to be at the parts counter for my local dealership and they had a brochure sitting on the counter that stated "NOW AVAIALABLE PROCOMP 6" LIFTS" .. they also had a DSI catalog on the counter which you could order from. Makes me wonder about the threads that said the dealers wouldn't honor transmission warrenties and such because the truck was lifted or moded. Sounds more to me like a dealership just didn't want to work on the truck since warrenty work doesn't make them money.
My local dealership seems to keep at least one lifted Tacoma on the lot all the time. They sure con some poor fools into paying for it too! $4000 for a spacer/block lift, wheels, and tires. Ouch!
