Hello ladies and gentleman. I just made a K&N , Weapon-R hybrid. I don't care about the horse power it says it is supposed to produce. I have the scangauge II and watch the air intake temp. I know this will help with this. I used the K&N intake tube, the weapon-R ram air kit and the weapon-R secret weapon air flitler. the ram are scoop is mounted in the lower grill in the bumper. I also used the helix throttle body spacer. just because. I can't wait for the negative feedback of this one. LOL feel free!
Looks good. I'd like to see a comparison of ambient temp vs. intake temp at different speeds. I keep meaning to do this myself. Maybe this weekend.
It would be interesting to see if the hose is in fact is worth the trouble. There is no doubt cooler air is pulled from that location. I wonder if the trade off of it sucking up that much more dirt and whatnot since it is so close to the ground is worth it.
I'd keep an eye on your filter, especially when they start dropping sand on the roads in the winter.
Any noise from the hose?

I'm not trying to be a jerk but it seems like your setup is more restrictive than stock.
You have a fairly small diameter hose bending from the center of the truck, back to the original air inlet location. The hose is prefiltered with foam. Then the air has to pass through the air filter and through the intake tube.
From what I've seen with a normal CAI setup. My intake temperature is normally around 10 degrees higher than the ambient temperature outside. I've noticed with the 95+ weather we've had lately that the intake temperature increases exponentially. Stopped at a light, the temperature can increase as much as 30 degrees.
I guess my point is, I'm not sure the restriction you are re-introducing is worth the slight, if significant at all, drop in intake temperature.

Its not restrictive! The ram air supplies air, the outside of the filter supplies air, then a straight tube to the throttle body. Its the same thing as the K&N but at the end of the filter is a adapter to hook up the hose for more air. I love it. Also the throttle body spacer sounds so cool. You would think I had a supercharger if you heard it.

like ur set up redbull im also a user of the helix spacer i get carried away with that whistle ha but it did help out on the long run with mpg... its funny how people always mistake that for a supercharger

Not to be negative on the TBS but do you or anyone have a numbers on it? I've only heard that they are a waste of money. Sorry Redbull! Love your truck BTW!
