Dirt Bike in the back of D-Cab pics

A while back a few people had asked for some pics of a dirt bike in the back of a D-Cab short bed. Better late than never Also it was a muddy day at the track so my bike is dirty as hell.

Nice might want to invest on the rubber mat for the bed. keep stuff from bouncing around back there. Nice bike. Im thinking about getting a quad.

that's the bad thing about short beds if you ride a lot....you can't kitty corner the bike so that the tailgate is closed because the bed is so freaking short. thats why i love my long bed. what are your tie downs connected to on the front?

I have always had to leave my tailgate down even with my 98 Taco so it doesn't really bother me. I moved my back D-Rings to the front bed bolts, I don't trust those cheesy bed-rails.

Wow, that bike just barely fits in the bed, doesnt it? Thats one thing I like about my fullsize truck, I can put my quad in the back and close the tailgate. At least that way, even if the tiedown snaps, I know my quad isnt going to fall out of my truck.
Nice bike by the way, Im a diehard Yamaha guy, but any bike is better than no bike.

Die hard Yamaha guy? Then why a Polaris Xc600? (had an 01 Xc500 myself, now a REV convert)

Good to see a dirtbike will fit in a shortbed. No hope of a sled back there. 6ft bed should, but she needs to be reversed.

It is also good to see that the tailgate didn't snap in two from the weight put on it.

i've been thinking about doing that. did you have to re-drill the pre-existing holes?if so, what size?

Simple, the price was right on the Polaris, so I bought it. If I could have gotten a SX 600R for the same price, Id have bought one of those instead.
As to the comment about being a "REV convert", Im sorry. I rode a REV 600 SDI last winter and it was enough for me to figure that Id never want one. Go ride a Yamaha Apex and you will see just how good that REV isnt.

No pre drilling required just had to grind off the collar on the back d-ring bolts to get the d-ring off. It was really easy took all of like 10 mins to do both.

Yeah but your full sized truck is a FORD man j/k Yeah I was worried when I bought the short bed d-cab that my bike might not fit. The D-cab was the wife's idea I am still thinking I should of gotten an access cab.

Yeah, yeah, dont remind me. The truck is just like the sled, the price was right and I liked it, so I bought it. If I could have gotten a Tundra for the same price I got the F-150 for, thered be a Tundra sitting in my driveway right now.
Oh well, 57,000 miles and counting down...

One of the reasons why I got the long bed... you can't haul anything in the short beds with the tailgail up..

I know the question has been brought up about how much room there is in the long beds vs. the short beds... Here's my raptor 700 in my D-Cab long bed with plenty of room to spare.

Nice truck and quad.
A Toyota truck and a Yamaha quad or dirtbike is the perfect combination, IMO
