2006 Tacoma Tonneau Cover

My 2006 Tacoma has caps/guards that run down both sides of the bed railings. I tried putting my tonneau cover on but because of the bed caps, when I lay the cover down, the hinge end is about 1.5 inches above the bed (talking about the area directly behind the cab). Tailgate end of the cover is about an inch above the tailgate. If I take the caps off, the tonneau cover fits perfectly at both ends. Only problem with that is, there are about 20 slots in each side of the bed that are used to hold the caps/guards in place (just push down on the caps and they pop into the slots). Anyone know of an adapter that can be used to fill in the gaps at both ends of the bed so that I can leave the bed caps/guards intact? Thanks ahead of time for the help.

The covers that are spacifically desinged for our year trucks come with the filler. Ask the dealer where you got it from.
