I own a 05 PreRunner DoubleCab. When I put the the truck in Drive and let off on the break in about 1 or 2 seconds I hear a low pitch wooshing sound. Someone said this is likely break presure equalizing. It does it about 95% of the time, is this normal? Sure doesn't seem like it should be.

Does it sort of sound like water swooshing? The loaner that they lent me has a funny sound in the mornings also. But it only does it once and it is fine the rest of the day.
My truck never did that? Are you sure it is normal? Or! Is that what the dealer told you? Does your truck do it all the time you put it in drive?
Your truck does it all the time. They all do it. Read your manual. It's a really subtle noise, that can only be heard if it's really quiet inside, and outside the cab. I usually notice it in the morning, when I leave for work, because there's very little ambient noise outside in the early a.m. where I live. When I leave work in the afternoon, I rarely notice it, because there's more ambient noise in that area, especially in the afternoon.
So yes it is normal, and no the dealer didn't tell me that, it's in the manual. And yes the truck does it after I start it, about 1-2 seconds after I let my foot off the brake, once the transmission has been put into drive.

Are you refering to pg. 277 of the manual? That states you may hear a "CLICK" or "MOTOR" sound from the engine compartment??
The Swoosh, or sloshing sound that my loaner makes seems to be comming from the transmission area. And it is deffenately "NOT" a click or a motor sound.
And "NO" My truck does not make that sound! Although my truck does make all types of other sounds that are not normal. That's why it's in the shop. As for my loaner I really don't care if it Swooshes, Sloshes, Burps, or Farts. It's only a loaner. But who knows? It maybe normal?? But I do know that is one sound that my truck deffinately "DOES NOT" make.

Yes it does. Turn down the radio.
I don't know what page he is referring to but if you look in the index and find "ABS", I'm sure it's listed on that page.
If it doesn't make that sound then you better leave it with the dealer beacuse your ABS isn't working.

It's actually page 257, but you had the correct paragraph. I'll post it just to avoid confusion:
"You may hear a click or motor sound in the engine compartment for a few seconds when the engine is started or just after the vehicle begins to move. this means that the anti-lock brake system is in the self-check mode, and does not indicate a malfunction."
Now it's tough to accurately describe a noise through text, but when the manual says a "click", I assume that it's either a solenoid, or a relay being energized to start a small electric pump motor, which is where the "motor sound" would come from.
The original poster describes a "whooshing sound", I would say that falls into the range of descriptions that I would agree with. I would also say a light humming noise would be a good description. So between the description of the noise, and the timing of when the noise occurs, I'm sure that's the noise he's describing.
As far as where the noise is coming from, I would say it sounds like it's coming from under the truck in the area around where the motor, and tranny meet.
Again, this is a very subtle noise, so if your truck is making all kinds of abnormal sounds, maybe that's why you can't hear it.

You maybe right! But When I had my truck I did pay special attention to any and all sound that it made. But I can't say that I ever heard my truck make that sound? But the manual does say that you "MAY" hear a click or motor sound. So maybe my truck you just can't hear it? I do know that the loaner is rather loud, even with the radio on I can still hear it. But it doesn't seem to affect preformance in any way. So I guess everything is O.K.
