Advice on Tacoma purchase?

im looking a new tacoma, the issue im having is i have 2 atv's i pull on a 6x12 atv trailer and i live in colorado. lots of mountains here and i was wondering if this truck is going to be able to pull thi strailer and weight up the mountains or is going to struggle it? what should o expect, i was looking at the double cab with the long bed, and trailer tow package of course. it would have to be a automatic i think because that package doesnt come in manual? would it be better to get the smaller cab so i could get the manual tranny? the trailer wouldnt be too heavy(maybe 3000lbs?) but the altitude and the steep inclines are my worry. i have ram 2500 now with the diesel and it pulls that trailer like nothing at any speed with great fuel mileage, but i need something better for work driving and a tax deduction !
thanks in advance !

Im curious too. I am looking at another quad and doing the same thing and would like to hear responses. I cant imagine a trailer and 2 quads weighing over 2k though, and I would imagine it would do fine but not like the diesel.

I have hauled a 400lb quad in the bed with camping gear for a weekend and besides the squat I couldnt really tell the thing was really loaded in the mountains.

Hope someone can reply with experience.

No Way.............

Bullit........no way your future Taco will pull like a big truck. It does tow well however. I pull a flatbed double axle and also a 16' horse trailer (about 2500+ lbs. loaded up) and the truck does well. However my mileage when towing is just as bad as my 4.7 V-8 (former truck) 2002 Dodge QuadCab and I'm only 800 feet above sea level. So, if you tow a lot and that is your main concern, keep the Ram. Plus there is a recent thread here regarding altitude and how poorly these trucks feel above 5-6,000 feet when towing.
