So the Toyota got 5 stars all around? It must be one of the safest vehicles around then?

Why doesn't Toyota advertise this rather than the truck being so damn bulletproof!?

Actually the 05 and 06 reg, access, and double cabs all recieved 5 star ratings from the NHTSA for both front and driver/passanger side impacts. The Tacoma was also rated as the safest small pickup on the road.

Best pick: Toyota Tacoma.
Good: Nissan Frontier, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon.
Acceptable: Dodge Dakota, Mitsubishi Raider.

SOoooooo. Now we know the difference betwen the 07 and 06 double cab Tacos. The 07 is identical to the 06, except the front and back of the 07 is twisted and bent.

From what I've heard and read, that will be part of a special "DDTRD OFF THE ROAD" package only available for the '07 double cabs. It's a new creative team put together by Toyota to cater to the partying consumer. The insurance will be higher though for this vehicle. No word yet if a Sport double cab model will be available with this package. Color option are limited though. Arterial Red, Black with Blue accents or Blue with Black accents and GanGreen and of course this year a first aid kit comes standard.
