Gen6 Base vs. SR5 brakes, major parts, etc ?

Hi,
Brand new around here and hope to become a contributor. Please help if you have a minute while I figure out my purchase on a new 2006 4cyl Tacoma

I searched, really I did! Deciding between an 4cyl Reg cab 4x4 SR5 versus Base. Looks like base so far. But,

Are there any performance related parts not on the Base that are on the SR5? but not mentioned in the brochure? For example on the 4Runner, Sport vs SR5 there are things like larger breaks!, telescoping steering wheel etc.

Are there larger brakes on the SR5 vs base? Or different transfer cases, differential size etc? All the cosmetic stuff I can live without (chrome, matching fenders, etc.) but I sure want the best hardware and will jump the SR5 if it makes sense

Thanks for your input,
Dave

All the major parts will be the same. On the reg cab, beside cosmetic differences, you'll be missing power windows, locks and I think the reg cab doesn't have the sliding glass in the back window. That's it.

The 4x4 all have the same size brakes, differentials, transfer cases and transmissions regardless of package. (well the TRD packages will have some different rear differentials but since you specifically said SR5)

I have a base model access cab. I love it. Can't see spending money on the SR5 if you don't care about cosmetics or the power package.

thanks a lot boone, that helps a bunch

right, the slider rear window is an option on the base, and the a\c also. Thats about it I guess until SR5. Except there is some sort of VSC auto + anti-slip diff option, I think, on Man tranny. Not sure on this yet VSC (sp?) stuff yet.

Thanks on the hardware question

edit: boone alotta cool mods there! I'll be checking back on your page for sure later. After I break in the engine I'll prolly switch to Amsoil, anyway differrent topic. Nice ride you have there!!!
