Window Tint Noise

I recently had window tint installed on my front windows. Everything looks fine but when I roll the driver side window down, I hear a "rubbing" noise. I believe the noise is coming from the left part of the driver side window (assuming you are looking at the window from inside the vehicle) where the tint may be hanging slightly over the window.

Is there an easy way of getting to this part of the window? I tried to remove the actual window seal, but it seems to extend all the way down into the door. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

You should take it back to the installer and have them trim the tint correctly. They should have no problem doing that.

If the trim doesn't work, try some "Pledge". Seriously, one of the tinters I used cleans his tint with it and it helps with the lube factor on the sticky window.

You can easily get to the bottom of the glass by removing the door panel. Read through the DIY sticky for how to remove the door panel. It's pretty easy.

Instead of puting something oily on the window, I would try waxing the window with carnauba, just like you do your paint. It will make the tint a lot smoother.

I ended up taking the door panel off, but I'm still not seeing how you get to the actual left side of the window without disassembling the door. I may try the wax and/or pledge idea.

Thanks again for all of the responses!

Why do you need to get to the bottom edge of the glass? The tint only has to go barely below the felt on the door panel. Taking the door panel off should give you access to the glass at least an 1" lower than the felt of the door panel. If the tint goes down further than that then you need to slice it off with a razor blade.

I actually need to get to the left edge of the window. I may just take it back to the tint shop, but when I did this the first time, they wanted to take my door panel off.

Still haven't decided how to fix this. Hesistant to take
it back to the installer because I'm afraid they might tear something
else up.

Hopefully to make my question clearer, does anyone know how to get to the left
part of the window. I'm confident that the window tint is rubbing on the left part
of the window track (the track that runs vertical). If you're sitting in the
drivers seat and looking at the window, is there a way to get to the "left" part of the window?
