Got the avn6600 here and installing amp new speakers etc. I need a how to to install navi and when I removed my stock sub my stereo doesn't work now? What do I dO???
More problems! I guess I got the only tacoma that does not plug right into the eclipse avn6600! 1 mutha fukin plug actually goes into the back of the eclipse deck!!!!!!!!! I guess I will take it to the pros! You guys made it sound like you pull your stock deck out and plug the eclipse in! NEGATIVE. I went to 3 places to find an adapter plug and was not succesful! Oh well hopefully the pros don't charge me to much! I'm not aboutto go hacking wires on the stock harness!
you say you have a factory amp right? try finding the wires which connect into the amp. unplug them and they should connect to either your alpine or aftermarket wiring harness. i had this problem when i was working on a 4runner. just follow the wires you can see, that were in the factory HU and they should lead you to the amp. from there you should find what was plugged into the amp. unpleg them and use them.
Yup, it will install easily, unless you have the JBL crap system. This has recently been mentioned in a couple other threads. Sounds like you better go to a pro installer. Plus I'm not sure if they will be able to make the sub work with your aftermarket radio. From what I've heard, the amp requires some sort of special signal that no aftermarket radio has. The installer will probably have to gut the whole system and run speaker wires. The JBL amp is the problem. As far as I know, there's no way to interface with it.
yah $300 They have to rewire the entire truck and I prob won't have any steering wheel control function! Damn it! This was a complete nightmare!!! Don't get an aftermarket stereo if you have the jbl setup unless you want to shell out the $$$.
The steering wheel controls should still work. It should plug right into the Eclipse. I don't think that plug changes, even if you have the JBL system.
I'm going to go pick it up now. I just don't like other people touching my truck, yah know! I don't trust them. ohh well hopefully everything is ok! The kid installing it seemed pretty knowledgable.
