New project - less time for TN

To keep this on topic, I towed the following (5100 lbs total) 500 miles from SC to VA yesterday. No problems. I really didn't know what to expect from the V6 but it did just fine. I didn't have any stability issues either. 15.1 MPG....

The car is my father's. 289 4V. He bought it new in 1965 and stopped driving it in early '72. It's been sitting in his garage for 35 years.... Over the next two years I'm going to restore it (and mod it) and return it to him in better shape than new. Should be fun

Of course, this means no money for tacoma mods.

I think its only fair that if your modding his car that he should mod your truck.

Very nice gesture and good to hear the Toyota handled the load nicely. I love working on the old cars. Much more fun to play with. Easy to work on and never really too hard to fix when they break. Have fun with it and be sure to post more pics when you start making progress. Also, take plenty of pics while you are disassembling the car. They will be invaluable when you start to reassemble the car.

I have an old car out in the garage (hence the name Eddie 70) I have been working on for the last 6 or 7 years. I am close to getting it where I want it to be. You never are really done with them. You just think of new things that you can do to make it better. If you would like to see my car, it made the January 2007 issue of Corvette Enthusiast and is on page 42. Or you can pm me and I will post a few pics.

Love the classic cars.

Even the old Fix-Or-Repair-Daily
