Stock Stereo and Cd-Rw's

alright, i've searched to no avail. it is cold outside and I am too lazy to go check it out myself so I hope someone can give me a quick answer. does the stock 05 tacoma stereo play CD-RW cd's? I'm about to burn a CD but I only have cd-rws left. i know they play Cd-R's, but I've never tried a cd-rw.

I have run into a few CDs that I have burnt that will not play on the stock unit and they play fine on everything else.

I believe you may have burned them using an option labeled burn in disc-at-once mode or something simliar. Some devices aren't compatible with it. It helps to keep the volume equal from track to track.

This 'may' be your problem.

What software did you use to burn it? I use Nero for all my burning needs and I've never had a problem. Well, the one version that was put out recently had a bug it in where burned CDs would skip, even after they were freshly burned.

I have always burned my cd's the same way with no problems. They will play but it sounds like static. It's the player and not the way I burnt them.

Yup, this is especially lame since most other Toyota models with OEM head units can play MP3s, along with many other low end auto manufacturers.

The sad thing is that I don't think that the 2007 Tacomas are any different in this aspect.
