i got my taco a month or so ago and i have noticed its pretty tough estimating how far away you are from the car behind you (especially when its a low car) when parallel parking. so, does anyone know if there is any aftermarket backup sensors or whatever they would be called that can be installed on an 06 taco? i dont need a backup camera, but just something that maybe beeps the closer you get to an object.thanks!
Can't park?!? Practice! Sheesh... Reminds me of the Lexus that parks itself. Might as well not even drive...
Sorry to sound harsh, but come on people...

thanks to all for the info, i will look into it. was the install easy Astrotaco?
cddallara, i can park the damn thing fine, i was a valet back in the day and still have my parking skills. but its like whenever i think im really close to the car behind me, i get out of the truck to check my park job and it ends up that i still have like another 2 or 3 feet between me and the car behind me.

I know the feeling, I have no depth perception (seriously) and always think I'm about to bump into something...When I actually have the 2-3 feet you mention. I'm just surrounded by idiot drivers (myself included) all day, it gets a little old...

hey, i live in Los Angeles, worst drivers ever! i actually see people park in from of my apartment building and they bumper is touching the car behind or in front of them. they just get out and leave it like that. idiots!
Hey Astotaco i really thinking about going with the system you have. im wondering if you can take some pics of the install? also, how did you run the wires from the sensors to the inside of the cab? oh yeah, what was the special kit you got so that you didnt have to drill through the bumper?
humm, ive searched alot of site and found a few products but most of them want you to drill into the bumper. i don't want to do that. any one know of any other brand then the Poron product that will let you hang the sensors from the bumper
They are meant as a guide, but not to be dependent on. I installed a pair of the sonar backup sensors on my dropped Honda Prelude b/c I didn't want my Exhaust pipe to get dinged when I back up into those cement curbs.
As soon as I hear a solid beep, it was 3" distance.
ditto, my sonomas were easy to gauge rear distance, i dont know what it is about this thats so different...i can see a big rear rubber bumper later down the road after the cheesy chrome rots off..
