Im still reading the thread but here are 15" winter wheels on a tacoma..... and they said it cant be done. Does the Xrunner have smaller calipers?

Hmm. Do 5 lugs have smaller rotors than 6 lug Tacos? Maybe its because those wheels are narrow, and don't have much of a lip. I doubt there are many 15" wheels that will fit. Those wheels sure are ugly.

Very possilbe, because of the stock tire sizes being smaller on the x-runner, less momentum and mass to stop??? Toyota thought smaller braking system could be justified? X-Runner also weighs less?

could be a film on the fogs, or they are the ones on eBay now that look to be an exact fit for Tacomas.

The base model 5 lug tacomas all come with 15 inch steel wheels. The XR and the 5lug trucks all have the same rotors and brake parts. Unless the XR was ordered with the big brake kit. The 6 lug trucks are definitely going to have a bigger rotor. The bolt circle for the 5 lug is 4.5 inches and the 6lug circle is 5.5 inches.

It's tinted protection film. YOu can get it in yellow, smoke, blue or clear.

Yeah, the brochure says the XRunner has the smaller rotors. Go take a look at the specs to make sure I'm reading it correctly (it gives their exact dimensions). Download the '07 brochure from Toyota's web site and take a look at it. Like I said, you could always swap your larger rotors out with the smaller ones... depending on just how badly you want 15" wheels. I personally wouldn't do it, but it's up to you.

LOL!! Unless your truck came with 15" rims then more than likely 15's won't fit!

Why do you want 15" rims so badly?

Wow, Bet she rocks with those little 15's on. Aint pretty, but talk about a true snow setup. I had to go with 16's on my D-cab.

toku58, for the best winter traction, narrower is better. More pressure on the footprint and less floating. Also the smaller the rims better ablitily to absorb shock, ie, protect from potholes and chewed up winter roads.

Also, 15" tires are cheaper than 16" or 17".

I just ordered the same setup for my X-runner, and Discount Tire assures me the 15's will fit. Now, if I only new what to do about the stupid TPMS.
