If you have a CAI and like deep water...

Have any of you seen this? Looks like kind of a cool insurance policy.

Well, if the water ever gets that high, my whole engine would be submerged, including my exhaust. That bypass valve also kills some of the hp which the intake was intended for. My thinking is that it's totally not worth it, unless..maybe...your CAI was located more toward the bottom of the engine like in some cars.

Be glad you weren't these guys !

Three or so years ago in Arizona, four BMW 5 series drivers wished they had H2O insurance when they drove through "3 to 4 inches of water" on city streets and sucked water into their engines. Their stock intakes were down underneath the front bumper for better performance. BMW refused to warranty them despite being "under warranty", stating that the vehicles were not meant to be driven in deep water. Ouch!! 15k apiece!!

I had a lowered civic si (hence the handle) and got caught in a flash flood with 15 inches of water for what must have been a mile. My filter was about 3 inches off the gound. So I shut it down poped the hood and just ran from the throttle body..... it worked perfect. I dont think I would have had the same problem with the tacoma though.
