Canada Bug Deflector (searched)

Ok I searched but still can't find what I am looking for. I am trying to find a Bug but more importantly rock deflector for my hood, I already have the OEM one but am looking for one with more of a skijump profile to acually push the aircurrent up and protect the hood. The only one I have been able to find so far that I like is the weather tech one but cannot really tell how good the 'kick' of it is from the angle. If I could get some side angle shots of actual deflectors that have been working good for people as well as what kind that would be great. I lurk on here all the time and ask lots of questions and get alot of help but I still haven't finished my truck, it is going to look very similar to onemnk's due to the same rims and super white but hopefully everything else will be different. Thanks guys.

Its pretty improtant I get a good one because up here in Canada they gravel the shit out of the roads and I am not putting that 3m shit on a white truck.

What wrong w/the 3m shit? I had it installed on my yellow GTO and loved it, you could'nt even tell it was there unless you were very close ( within 2 feet). I'll have it installed on my white TRD access cab by this weekend. Most people I asked could not find it unless I told them it was there. Did you have a bad experience with the 3m product??

The Hood deflector doesn't do crap!!! It is just there for looks!!
I know I have had one on my vehicles for the past 7 yrs. Rocks and bug still hit my window.

The vent shade Bugflector II is a good one! Well made. Checker Auto parts has a good price. It has the ski jump!! That's the one I've got.

Well I have seen the 3m it works good but whenever I see it on white it stands out,and goes a bit yellowy any color I would do it other than white, I also like the look of the shield as well. The ski jump deflectors do work I have one on my work truck I just can't find pictures of one for a tacoma, and I would way rather have my window beat to hell than my hood chipped, way easier to replace and most windows don't last a winter up here if you drive highway at all.

Yup, I agree, although there may be less pits on the hood when one is used. I also have the Vent Shade Bugflector II. I like the looks of it.

I have the Lund Interceptor II and it works great, has a modest profile. I think it is identical to the Buflector II, someone said they were made by the same company. Stones still hit the windshield, but the front portion of the hood is protected much better now. Bugflector is definitely a misnomer....whoever named it that ought to wash my windshield after a drive through the mountains on a muggy June evening.

I just got my weathertech hood deflectors for both our '06 Tacoma and our '07 Rav4.

The plastic hardware (expanding push pins with plastic phillips screws) are inadequate. They simply do not go in far enough to secure the deflector and they pop out easily. I've stripped one, lost two, and I could not get either deflector secure. Even if I did, no way I would trust them to hold at highway speeds...

Has anyone had this problem and do you have a workaround? I think I am going to have to use short sheetmetal screws with some rubber washers.

I have weathertech floor liners, window visors, and love them, but I think these deflectors are going back to them.
