Carrier drop will make it worse!!! It happened to me! I figured why add another variable into the equation? Just adjust the rear axle to correct the issue. That is the cause!

did the 4 degree shims fix ur problem? 2.5 didnt do shit 4 me!

I haven't installed the rear leaf springs or shocks yet. I'm just wondering what works most for everyone. I do have 2.5 axle shims and 1/2 inch drop spacer on hand.

so you got rid of all your vibrations with just axle shims?

Well I didn't install the shims yet. The shims that I got off Ebay were too large. They were 3" wide and our springs are 2 3/8" wide. I need to mill them down first and get longer U-Bolts.
I installed 1/2" carrier bearing drop. And it made a whole different type of vibration. Sure the shudder got a little better. But adding to the puzzle was headed in the wrong direction IMO. So I removed the drop and now I only need to deal with the fact that the axle is lower. So I am hoping that he shims raise the differential enough to bring it back to it's stock position, or close.
If anyone would like a nice set of 1/2" stainless carrier bearing plates let me know?
I've said it before and I'll say it again no two trucks will be the same. The way you lift your truck will make all the difference as well. Deaver and many custom spring packs actually have taper built into the spring which changes the pinion angle to correct for lift. Other options like AAL's do not. Some blocks also have taper built into them while yet again others don't. There is no one fix for all and attempting the whole trial by error thing will only prove to be more costly, more time consuming, and far more frustrating then had you researched a proper fix and done it right the first time. Others have said it before as have I, if you want to do it right read up on how to set your pinion angle. There is lots of info on the net that will show you exactly what you need to do. Hans you have the Dakars correct? I would contact ARB and ask them if taper is built into the spring if so then I would simply follow their recommendation and simply add the carrier bearing drop. If there is no taper built into them then go buy yourself an angle finder read up on how to properly set your pinion angle and do it right the first time.
3" Toytec OME 885 coils, Alcan AAL, Diff. Drop & 2.5 Degree Rear Axle shims. (All from TOYTEC) No Vibration Issues.
Like Adventure North said, each setup will need something different. In addition to doing what he said, you might also want to search for someone running the same OME/Dakar Leaf Pack you installed and see how they fixed it. Good Luck.

It doesn't look like it but I will email ARB to be sure

You most likely won't see it, the don't "wedge" the spring if you will. What they do is they form the arch of the spring in such a manner and offset the center pin slightly so that when mounted the pinion angles up more. Leaf springs are simple yet very complicated things, I guess that is why there are entire text books dedicated to spring design.

Hey Hans I would love to know what ARB says about the Dakars too... Im thinking of taking out the AAL( all the vibs lead to it) I think a full pack would be the best bet
thanks in advance
I tried the carrier drop but like toku said it kinda stopped the vibration but then at speed I had a different kind of vibration, so i put that back to the way it was and ordered some 2 1/2 degree shims from Toytec, installed them last weekend and that solved the problem. I only have 1 inch blocks in the rear so I didnt even think vibration would be an issue, but it was.

Is your block angled? I have a 1" block from SAW and it's suppose to be tappered to correct the pinion angle, but I still have some vibrations. I may need to get the 2.5 degree shims as well.
