Alarm Audio Confirmation

Could not find anything by searching, but does someone have an existing mod as to hooking up lets say the horn to the alarm system - in order to confirm activation or disarm?

Would like to hear a beep or something when it locks.

If not, I am sure I can come up with something over the weekend.

Thanks & Cheers!

Are you talking about the truck making a sound when you lock the door with the remote. I have also wondered about this. Whats the trick.

Yea, you know, most cars beef the horn or the alarm siren will give a little "chirp" - most often twice for locked and once for unlock.

I will spend some time on it this weekend. Does anyone know where the alarm unit is hidden - maybe I can install a relay or something.

I used the keyword "Beep" to search through the 2005+ Tacoma forums.

Here are some of the threads I have found.

http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t155400.html
That one talks about adding your own Piezo tweeter to the system to get it to do it(Tundrasolutions link, towards the bottom half of the TS thread)

This one shows you how to do it if you have the Gulf States type of Alarm.
I used the keyword "Chirp" to search for that recent thread.

There are other threads on the topic if you use those two keywords in the '05+ Tacoma forum
