MY Yakima Megawarrior Basket/Rack on the OEM Roof Cross Bars
There was this place about 30 miles away from where i live that was closing down and had a clearance sale going on. I called, and they had one more Yakima Megawarrior rack left so i quickly went after class and picked it up for $320. When i got home i mounted it. The mounts that it came with didnt fit proper in the back so i had to modify them a little with a dremmel tool.
Edit: I will also be getting the lockable mounting brackets in a while so it stays secure up there.
Here are the pics, let me know what you think :
I had to modify the back ones so it could work proper. There is a specific mount kit that i think i need to get to make it work perfect. Also that the fact that the OEM roof cross bars are so far apart so it is almost like the basket isnt long enough.

What kind of car is in the background of the first pic? It looks like a limo with red and blue flames.
worlds first stretch Chevy Monte Carlo. It's a company called Racing Limos. My uncle has the rights to the Atlanta Area. he keeps it on our backyard. http://www.racinglimos.com/

Looks great. With the exception of my truck I've had aftermarket rack on all my cars. Two questions. How much weight can it handle and, after some time can you let us know how it affects your milage?
Before we go any further I should probably ask, is the reason you had to mod the mount so you couldmount it outside the inner frame? Could you not get the mounts fixed to the small bars?

could not get mounts fixed to the smaller bars cause there was not 2 small bars directly over the OEM cross bar after i did the front. man i hope this makes sense. i aint good at explaining things.
what happens was, things lined up in the front. but because the OEM crossbars are so far apart and the rack isnt long enough so things did not line up in the back so i had to mod them and i placed them differently just so they would fit. I think there is a specific set of mounts i need to buy, but i dont know.

OK gotcha! That's kinda dumb that the Toyota roof bars don't slide, that would make mounting lots of things difficult as many items have fixed mount positions and require the cargo bars to move.

exactly and they are so far apart so it just didnt work and i had to modify. i think there is suppose o be a specific mounting bracket for our truck but i cant find it. dunno. you have any idea.
