Question Head Unit Back up camera ?

i am finally going to buy a navigation head unit. i decided to go with apioneer avic-z1 instead of the eclipse avn 5495 i initially wanted.

i have a question about the back up camera,
does anyone know if i can use a back up camera from eclipse, like the one listed, on a pioneer head unit? i cnat seem to find what type of connection it has.

The eclipse cameras will only work with Eclipse HU's. They have a special plug that fits into the back of the HU. It's not like a universal RCA video cable.

I don't mind if you use my mounting method. I should have taken pics of the modding process. You have to use a real small camera though, and be pretty good with a Dremmel tool, glue, and drill. A UniBit is the best way to drill a clean hole in plastic for the lens to peek through. FYI, The Eclipse camera is about 1.5" cubed.

I actually have a nice brand new camera that would work great as a backup camera. It's a weatherproof color security camera that runs on 12 VDC and has RCA video output. It's a lot bigger than the Eclipse or Pioneer camera, but it also has a much better picture too. It's about the size of two C-size batteries placed end to end. I might sell it or keep it for a future project. The only place you could really mount it would be under the bumper or if you have a camper shell you could mount it inside the camper shell and let it look out through the back glass. It has 3 different mounting holes on the camera body that can be used to mount the camera from the top, bottom, or back. I'd have to get at least $200 for it. It was $350 new.
