Oh noes!!!!! "whirring" wiper-motor noise

With the deluge we've had the last several days, the last thing I need is my wipers to stop working. Guess I'll have to go see what's up with this thing.

Anyone else have loud wiper-motors???

43,000 miles before my first "problem". Guess it could be a lot worse.

Yep, I do. I took mine in and of course they said they could not here the noise. I plan to take it to somewhere else.

Before I bought my Tacoma I test drove two different models. I tested the wipers in both and could not believe how loud the wiper motor was. Figuring I could just wear earplugs when it rained I ordered a truck. The 1st time it rained I used the wipers and heard nothing. Maybe they switched to a different wiper motor sometime late in 2005 or early 2006

I rode in my grandpas car yesterday with him. It was barely sprinkling, but he had the wipers on HI during a 2 hour drive to the airport. That's hard on the wiper motors. Too much friction. It was killing me, but I didn't say anything.
