ok, My son just graduated air force boot camp, I spent 3000.00 to go to texas for a week, to see him. his job is F-16 crew chief and he is in tech school now, he needs a laptop to do his work, I hardly have any cash left after the trip. Does anyone know where I can get a laptop (used or new ) for an extremely good price. I know this isnt a taco issue, but you guys seem to know everything collectively. And I want to help him as much as possible, after all he is shipping to Iraq after school.

just something, I guess that he can store documents. email while overseas. Nothing extravagant. PC. As cheap as possible. Like I said we didnt know he would need one when we scheduled the trip, or I would have cut back on some the fun stuff we did together. If anyone here has one for sale cheap , please let me know, asap!!!

Im sure anything made recently would do. I just do not like not really being able to help him. We just got the bad news of him shipping to Iraq. I pushed him to go into the Air Force(instead of other branches) thinking he would be safe . You cant believe the guilt I feel now.
yeah that's tough man, sorry. but he'll be fine and come back with plenty of stories to tell at least he's in the air force and not on the ground. try not to stress too much.
you might want to check ebay as well. they have plenty of refurbished laptops for dirt cheap. just be sure to ask about any warranty that they can offer.

Just to ease your mind a little. I was in the Air Guard and spent time over there and they won't put the crew chiefs in harms way. That's not to say that shit won't happen because you never know, but he will be fine. Hopefully he won't be there very long. Knowing how the maintenance guys work he will be staying plenty busy working on the planes. We all will say a prayer and he will be home before you know it.

I hope so, Like I said I told him if your going in to the military , go Air Force. I was sure that would be the safest. I know that the militarys job has to be done, it's just hard when it is your your own, and my influence caused it.
