exhaust for 06 4 cyl.

I was wondering has any one added an aftermarket exhaust to their 4cyl. I have an 06 SR5 prerunner and im thinking about adding one to my truck. I want to know the basics how does it sound, any increase in power, name brand used. etc. Also if your reading let me know what you fell is the best after market exhaust system. Thanks TN members

I put on a flowmaster 40 series muffler and i love it! I think it improved the high end a little bit. I mainly bought it for the sound, so im satisfied.

Because it's kewl!
Nothing like seeing a Honda Del Sol, 1.6l with dual exhaust.....why not so the same to your 4-cylinder toy

I talked to the guys at my local exhaust shop (great, talented guys btw) and they said the Magnaflow would sound better than the Flowmaster. That's what I'm going with, so I'll post some sound clips so you can decide for yourself.

Is there anything to quiet it down without significant mpg drop? I like the truck but hate the sound.

Are you saying you think the stock exhaust is too loud?

the guys at the exhaust shop i went to told me the same thing, but they said the magnaflow might sound quieter, so i just went with the flowmaster....no complaints

Guys come on lets be realistic how much noise can a 4 cyl engine make out of an exhaust. Im sure their will be noise but compaired to the noise you hear from a V8 engine we can't compet. Im hoping to squeez as much power out of my 4cyl as possible with a few simple add ons, Like 77series K&N and a good exhast system. after that im pretty much done performance wise. then im on to cosmetic additions fog lights, tonneu cover rims and tires and one serious sound system upgrade.

well you'll get more out of 2 mufflers than one, right?

I am looking for quiet exhaust for my 4 cyl. Taco. I'm not trying to turn my Taco into Lexus and I know this sounds weird but I would really like to have it quieter (without any serious side effects). How your aftermarket mufflers sound inside the cab, especially in city driving?
OEM sounds somewhat like rattle...
Is cold air intake (K&N 63 series or similar ) going to change engine/exhaust sound?
