I've been looking for an oil cooler for a few months now. The aftemarket has oil to air coolers and the factory oil to water is $800 + dollars. While I was doing an oil change today I found an oil to water cooler I had from an 86 Ford Thunderbird turbo coupe from my last project. I thought what the heck lets try it. anyway it fit!

.... mostly. The cooler is a bit too wide for the oil filter mount but with a little trimming should solve the problem. Other than that everything fits the filter is the right size, it threads onto the filter mount and the filter threads onto the cooler. As for coolent line I'm going to run them to water pump outlet just like factory.
I'm waiting for a new cooler to block gasket from ford, so in a couple of weeks I'll do the trimming and plumbing weather permitting.
