RTFM. It's on page 36 in the owners manual. Lift the lever on the side to tilt the seat back up. Turn the knob to increase lumbar support. I really like the seat in my new Taco. Finally a drivers seat that doesn't hurt my lower back. My only gripe was the headrest is tilted too far forward and touches the back of my head but I got used to it.

Uhh, i belive he asked how to "raise" the driver seat.
I don't think you can raise the seat though? i've never seen a lever to do this.... if you create a mod let us know.
It's really rather simple as the previous post states. You need to unplug the seat belt safety device which is located under the seat. Then if it is a bucket seat I believe you would have 4 bolts to remove to remove the seat. Use washers or spacers as needed to raise to the desired height. You can add even #s for front and back or more of the other depending on how you want the seat to set. I would check the bolt length and size before staring to assure it will have the required length after adding spacers. Buy washers and bolts at the same time. This will keep you from having to put the seat back in to drive to the store to buy additional bolts. If you have another car, it will still be easier if you plan ahead. You may be able to find the bolt size at this site as someone has posted some factory manual info somewhere on site.
Yeah but after going through all that trouble is it really going to help your back. I mean it is still going to be at the same angles, just a little higher.

That would work if the 4 bolts went straight down, but only the rears do. The fronts are at an angle, so you would need to fab an adapter. That said, if all the OP wants is to raise the rear of the rails a small amount, longer rear bolts and spacers should work.
Instead of trying to raise your seat, try pulling it closer to the steering wheel. I'm 6'2" and tried driving with the seat all the way back, but my back quickly didn't like that. Moved the seat forward 2", and the pain never returned.

Does your seat have lower lumbar support? There should be a wheel on the door side of the seat. Turn the wheel, and you'll feel the lumbar support move out. I've used it ever since I went on a roadtrip and my back started hurting. Now I leave it set to where I like it, and even the wife doesn't move it.
Be cautious with replacing bolts to ensure that you use bolts of equivalent grade.
In the event of a collision, you don't want the seat ripped from the floor. If a frontal collision, the seat would then restrained by the seat belt and cushioned by your body.
In the case of a rear end collision, your risk of injury is greatly increased if the front bolts fail, allowing the seat to flip backward.
Suggest review of the svc manual for appropriate fastener grades, or at least make sure you recognize and duplicate the grade of fastener marked on the bolts already in place.
Just keep in mind that simply shimming up a significant height may load the bolts differently (adding bending in addition to shear) and increase the risk of their failure under load.
The other suggestions (cushion or seat fwd/rear adjustment) might be simpler/safer.
I personaly find that if the seat back is too far forward, I dont' get sufficient support of my lower back.

I'm only 5' 2", I too looked into raising the seat, but found that because of the angled front mounts that it was going to be a pita. I'm the proud owner of a $5 pillow that sits under the seatcover. My friends call it my booster seat.

05 Access Cab TRD Offroad. Looking to sell my new, still in box Toytec lift. Make me a reasonable offer!
Went to Home depot today and bought 10 3/8" washers and removed the rear bolts securing the seats. Well I could only fit 4 washers under each side and tighten the bolts safely, 5 washers would be too many without longer bolts. It really does make a difference for me as I've always felt a little low in the seat while driving. It is a much more comfortable driving position for me but I want to get longer bolts for safety but I can't seem to find the correct size??? Does anyone know what size and thread these bolts are? Or where I can buy longer ones?
