I know Toyota recommends change your oil every 5K or 6 months. I have a 05 Taco V6.
I drive my 93 Camry every day so I do not put many miles on on my Taco.
I bought my Taco on 1/05 and now I only have 3,500 K. I changed the oil at 2K Pennzoil Dino 8/05. Boone I did buy 4 cases of Pennzoil Platinum (6 to a case) from your post.
Do you think it's OK to wait to I get to 5K to go to PP. This way I will change at every 5K so I can track it.

Yeah that should be fine if that's what you want to do.

I would be more concerned with leaving your oil in for too long. January to August was too long. If nothing else, change the oil every 6 months.

I would get on the every 6 month interval. You clearly aren't doing 5000 miles over that period of time. Change over to PP at some point in January. Mark down the date and then change again in July. At least until you start driving the Taco with a bit more frequency.
