So, my gf was talking about getting me coilovers from SAW for Christmas. However, with the new group buy from Toytec, I have another option... Which scenario would present better results?
Option 1:
Christmas- SAWs and an AAL ($800)
Birthday in March- Tires ($800)
Later- Deaver pack and rear shocks (probably next Christmas) ($800)
My question is this... How much better are SAWs than the Toytec front lift? Is it worth the extra $300 that it will cost me to go for the SAWs and not having rear shocks with the lift for a year?
I have looked at the search on this tons of times, but I haven't ever seen these two option with a time scenario played out. BTW, my truck does light to medium off-roading and lots of road driving and is in my signature...

I think I would go with Option 1 if I was you and could do it. I only did a toytec lift as a cheap way to lift the truck for better clearance off road, and larger tires later on (which I have now). I don't plan on keeping it forever, but could not afford SAWs or Hoes at the time.
But then I also have the spacer lift so I don't know how the toytec coil over compares to SAW or D-Hoe ones.

how 'bout this, if your gf has a sister that is between the ages of 25and32, you send her my way and i'll get rid of my wife. i could use a lift and tires myself. just kidding. she must make a stack of cash to drop 1600 bucks between to gift giving events.

thanks for the opinions guys! keep 'em coming... I am look at the slee too now... but the deal on the Toytec seems great...
PiercedTiger- what about the Toytec makes you want to change it?
It's a 3" Spacer lift so I have the stock OR Bilsteins and a chuck of aluminum putting more tension on the stock springs. I'm assuming a better spring and shock combo will ride better, have better travel, and last longer. I've heard the spacer can cause sag or premature wear on the spring.
Other than that, they work perfectly fine for me and I'm happy with them. I can feel large bumps (potholes, logs, curb-sized obstacles) quite a bit and it makes me think the spacer is limiting travel somehow. But for $1,000 or so for better setups I can live with my $120 kit.

i would DEFINITELY go with option one. i have the toytec and don't regret it at all. but i will be going to DR's in the near future. don't turn down the oportunity to get quality coil overs.
do you know Jen?!?!?!?! I thought she wasn't going to tell anyone... last time this got out I had to invest in a good crow bar to beat the women off... crap. HAHAHAHA
No 12 inch dong here, just a damn good girl! Who happened to grow up with a slightly older brother who is as into truck and Jeeps as I am...sorry, no sisters...
And I am gonna go the coilover route... seems like a better idea in the long run... Thanks guys! I tell you what, I don't know what I'de do without this forum, probably be productive at work or something scary like that!

well, looks like for now I'll do the Donahoes up front as of last night and an AAL in the rear until March, when I'll get Deavers... Not sure when Tires will Happen... hopefully around the same time...
