New Tacoma Delivered - Questions

My '07 TRD Sport 4X4 AC, with Tow Pkg, AT, super white came in today. Drove it home this evening.
Nice. Kind of like a Lexus pickup. Fourth Toyota pickup, and the last one, it is a keeper. Ordered around November 18, said 4 - 5 week delivery. Here already.

Can anyone comment about SE Toyota area on this? I ordered the 6 CD changer, which puts the controls in the steering wheel, and running lights. It did not come with those options, and sales rep advised that it is not available on the 2 door AC in the southeast region. But, it is available on the 4 door. No power seat also. He had no realization of this when ordered, as it showed available then.

He showed me the factory order on the screen, not available. They of course knocked off the amount.
Got it for invoice on all items except the base vehicle price, invoice on base and marked up $750 over invoice, and I got $500 of that back for incentive from Toyota.
He did say that most of the new ones '06's sold and '07's ordered are 4 doors. Brakes were very soft initially. Did a couple of back up's, hit brake, brought them up, drove home, all normal.

there really is no "special order" available from the factory. toyotas are sold by regions, and regions divide up their allocations. dealers can trade with others in the region for what they want. to see if it's even possible in your region, go to the toyotausa.com. click on build your own, entering your zip code puts whats possibly available within your region....

good luck with the truck, watch out for the flimsy tail-gate......

Which 6 disc changer? The DZ option code or the JBL system? The JBL isn't available on an access cab period (as far as I know - no place for the sub/amp), but the DZ is. Actually, I didn't want it and you can't get it without here (all TRDs have it in this region anyway).

The DTRL is a ~$35 fuse/relay. There are several threads about it here, including do-it-yourself methods. But I see no reason why the dealer shouldn't be able to just get the part and plug it in, even if it can't be ordered that way. Unless they use different bulbs down there or something.

No idea on the power seat though - I saw something about '07's having 'walk-in memory' and wondered about it, but mine sure didn't.

Congrats on the truck!

/edit

Correction on the DTRL - I think you have to add a wire too. Haven't done it myself, planned to and then it went on the back burner.

similar thing happened to my buddy. only he didn't receive what he ordered. as far as i know the factory is out in cali. toyota uses the "lean-sigma" manufacturing idea. basically they cut cost by not building anything that won't sell. they limit the options on certain platforms and it all rounds out to what is selling and what is not. he was told by his dealer, after he put in an order for what he wanted, that the factory would not build this truck. all he wanted was a dcab 4x4 trd, six speed with the changer and steering wheel controls. he ended up with everything but the jbl system. so what you are saying makes sense.
