New Tacoma Delivered - Questions

My '07 TRD Sport 4X4 AC, with Tow Pkg, AT, super white came in today. Drove it home this evening.
Nice. Kind of like a Lexus pickup. Fourth Toyota pickup, and the last one, it is a keeper. Ordered around November 18, said 4 - 5 week delivery. Here already.

Can anyone comment about SE Toyota area on this? I ordered the 6 CD changer, which puts the controls in the steering wheel, and running lights. It did not come with those options, and sales rep advised that it is not available on the 2 door AC in the southeast region. But, it is available on the 4 door. No power seat also. He had no realization of this when ordered, as it showed available then.

He showed me the factory order on the screen, not available. They of course knocked off the amount.
Got it for invoice on all items except the base vehicle price, invoice on base and marked up $750 over invoice, and I got $500 of that back for incentive from Toyota.
He did say that most of the new ones '06's sold and '07's ordered are 4 doors. Brakes were very soft initially. Did a couple of back up's, hit brake, brought them up, drove home, all normal.

Haven't heard of TRD that didn't have steering wheel controls. I would contact Toyota USA and complain and see if you can convince them swith out the steering wheel. Tell them you're on this forum and everyone else has them...

I test drove two TRD Tacomas and one had it and one didn't. I took the one that had the controls.

The way I am seeing it at the dealership, is that it goes by region. Someone else posted on here and advised to plug in my zip code with the USA Toyota address, add options and see what comes up. More later, go down Friday to get step tubes put on
I am 100% positive the sales rep is not BS'n on this. He pulled up the link directly to the manufacturing facility, at production. I will know more later, but now that it is over, all is fine. I will write to Toyota though. Just to take the rep's temperature.

I just don't get this...I can see options like a block heater for freezing temps being a regional option, but steering wheel controls? I've had it on my last 3 vehicles and I love it. No matter how close the radio is the steering wheels controls are just plain nice to have.

I too wanted the steering wheel controls. I only ordered a Prerunner AC and hoped I could get this feature. It appears that Toyota simply builds what they want and "take it or leave it" Its unfortunate since overall they are a fantastic car company. Another RIPOFF is TOYOGUARD.

the truck was priced at 13,900 with 16k miles it was being sold at BB value at the time and was in really good shape so i didnt try to haggle. i live in south dade, homestead to be exact and i bought it at armstrong toyota of homestead. horrible dealer ive had nothing but problems with them

they once tried to sell me a key for my truck at 80 dollars, then when i insisted they made the same key for 4 dollars.. total rip off (they insited my key was chipped but i knew it wasnt)
