This is my first post, and I don’t want to look dumb.
I got my truck a couple weeks ago, and I have never had a truck before.
I plan on going out to the desert a lot with my truck and quad.
What I want to know is what’s is a good air compressors too fill up my tires from a low PSI, and also maybe seating a bead on my quad from time to time. I think I would need some thing with a tank to seat a bead. Also has any one here installed an air compressor on there truck? , or do most people just get a portable one.

you might try ttora. it is more of a "hard core off roading" website. also, wheelers sell co2 systems that might work better for seating beads. i know they are capable of airing up many many tires quickly unlike standard air tanks
TTORA probably would be a good place to check, but since I've looked into this a little myself... ARB makes two, the larger of which runs about $300 and is primarily for their air-lockers. However, they also have a hose kit for it that can be used to run air tools or just air up. Tanks can be bought separately - I've seen one, three, and five gallon tanks around, with five being pretty common in local 4x4 shops here. I've no idea where I'd mount the thing if I even needed it though, it's relatively huge.
There are also a couple of threads around here that mention compressors and air tanks if you use the search to hunt for them.
The MV50 portable comp. is good to air up. But as for seating Beads? wow? You may need a tank. I've seen people do it with lighter fluid and a match in the field. But I would only recommend that as a last resort.
Puma makes an excellent 12 volt 100% duty cycle portable unit with tank attached.Go to yotatech and do a search.I own one so I can vouch for it.Its only around 35 lbs and has a handle to carry it by.That is if a portable is what your looking for.It gose up to 150psi if I remember right. For the quad a cheap 12volt one from auto zone would do.If your going to use on the truck I would get a good one.I bought it off ebay brand new for right at 200 bucks.By the way WELCOME to the forum.
I just bought an Air Zenith compressor and 3 gallon tank for my air horns, air tools, and airing up tires. The Air Zenith is a beast. It can pump up to 200psi. It's very well made, but it might be more than you want to spend. About $290.00
airing up tire kent. where you gonna mount the tank and compressor.
I'm still layin' it out. There's a lot of room behind the front bumper, below the grill. I can probably mount the compressor and horns there. I might have to put the air tank under the cab on the side of a frame rail.
This is the compressor I got, except I got mine with a cooling fan on top of the heatsink fins. It's a very nice unit. It's overkill for my application, but you know me, Go big or stay home.
I just got a new 4wheelparts mag yesterday and they are advertising an ultra-compact PowerTank C02 bottle for $49. It's really small (about twice the size of a can of Coke) and it says it has enough air to raise the pressure 10psi on 10 normal-sized tires. So, you'd probably get 2 uses out of it per charge. But, for $50, thats not too bad.
They sell them at Pep Boys, they run about $50-60 and when I got mine there was a rebate so it was a good deal. I have read many great things about it and I have used it with great success, It will air up 10 psi pretty quick. Pep Boys sells a couple Master Flow models so make sure its the right one.
I think im going to go with "Tsunami Master Flow MF1050" for the truck right now.
Then later down the road look at other options. Moneys hard to come by with a new truck.
I know this will not seat a beed but its good for airing up the tires.
Down the road maybe a co2 bottle or see what Pb's install looks like.
