Parrot Install
Here's a picture of the kit. Included in the picture is the toyota factory harness adapter that truly makes this a plug and play mod.
Start by plugging the kit together. Like I said, it's real easy. I was overwhelmed a bit at first, but once you really look at everything it's tough to make a mistake since every connection is unique and you really can't plug anything in the wrong place.
Here's a close up of the toyota factory harness adapter.
Here's everything plugged in except for the microphone and screen display. What's pictured is ready to install into the truck and plug into the radio.
Here's the microphone and screen display.
First step on the install is to remove the a-pillar. Two bolts are under the caps on the handle then the rest just pops out and you're left with this.
Next you have to remove the stock radio. There's good thread on this. It's real easy. Use a screw driver to pop the HVAC controls off.
Then there's 4 - 10mm bolts and the radio comes out.
I then ran the microphone wire over with a coat hanger behind the dash and reinstalled the a-pillar after clipping on the microphone.
Make the connections in back of the radio with the the Parrot kit adapter and stuff the wires whereever there's room. I found room to upper left part of the dash behind the radio. Put the radio back and the HVAC controls. I had notch the bottom of the HVAC for the wire so it didn't get squished. Then I just used the velcro supplied with the kit to attach the unit to my dash. Synched up my phone and I was ready to go. No complaints so far and if my wife hasn't said it sounded like crap it must be pretty good. Now when I get a call my radio automatically mutes and hear them through the stereo. Once the call ends the music comes back on. The best part is not holding a phone while shifting.
NOTE....remove all of your cd's before intalling. I plugged everything in but didn't reassemble to test the unit. The head unit was dangling and when it powered up the radio it went to lift a cd and it fell out of place. I had to take the radio apart and unjam the cd.
