Tail Gate Question

When you put the tailgate down on the tacoma, there is a plastic piece that is towards the top that is held in with 7 -star type headed, bolts. This piece is there to protect the top of the tailgate when loading.

Any way, mine is getting chewed up from loading the Drit bikes and scooters in to the truck. I know I can remove and replace it by taking out the 7 screws.

Does any one know of an aftermarket manufacture that makes this piece out of a heaver duty material, or out of Diamond plate?

someone posted a tailgate spoiler (it's not large) some time ago. i believe it takes the place of, or covers the cap.... but a steel cap might be just what we need to strenghten the gate. if it looked good, and fit well, there'd be plenty of buyers here.....

I haven't seen one either, but I've been tempted to buy some diamond plate and cut it to fit myself.
