Most hard covers worth getting seem to be around the $1,000 mark.
I got a folding hardcover for around $500 and reget it now. It leaks, is really 1/2" thick cardboard coated in ABS plastic, and the rubber joints are splitting.
I'm going for one of these suckers! Hold 400lbs! hehe
That diamond back stout but so is the price 2,200.Id buy a camper shell before I would pay that much.
I saw prices at a few places for the SE model (only holds 400lbs instead of 1600, no atv mounts, cleats, etc) for around $900. A local truck shop is also getting them in stock soon with one installed on their plow truck so I might try getting it for less! That'll also give me a chance to see how it works and make a final decision on purchasing it or not.
I'm just a little upset about paying $500 for one that's made with a cardboard core and still leaks bad enough that it's almost pointless to use. So I'll gladly pay more for one that folds, but still goes over the rails so I don't have water leaking between the cover and bed rails.
I wouldn't pay 2g's for it either... But it seems like the strongest folding one out there... And it's completly removable rather than a rolling hard cover that leaves the 9" or larger drum in the bed to take up space.
